Gold Black Chronograph

Black absorbs everything except what is placed on it. On a chronograph, that makes every counter, hand and marker a decision.

Three counters. One black surface.

Fine horizontal striping runs across the black dial, and the three chronograph counters sit recessed into it, so the striping is never broken. Against black, the applied gold hour markers and the white-lumed hands do not compete for the light — they take it. The date aperture is the only white on the dial, and it is meant to be found at once.

The cushion case.

Forty-two millimetres, softened at the corners, with a rounded bezel set into a cushion-shaped case in gold-finish steel. The bracelet flows straight from it with no lugs, and the two pushers stand off the crown as the only interruption to the profile. Ten millimetres thick — for a chronograph, that is the whole argument.
