Green Arabic numerals on a blue dial — the pairing military instruments have used for a century, because green is the colour the eye picks out fastest against a dark ground. A printed 24-hour scale sits inside the hour ring, the minute track and its luminous dots run the outer edge, and the date sits in a clean aperture at three o'clock. Three zones, each with one job: nothing decorates, everything is there to be read in a glance, in daylight or in the dark.

Forty-four millimetres that weigh less than they look.

Case and bracelet in brushed titanium — close to half the weight of steel, with a matte, cool finish that ignores scratches and fingerprints alike. Twelve millimetres deep, a fluted crown that can be worked with gloves on, a screw-down caseback, and a folding clasp with push-button release. It is built the way an instrument is built: to be worn hard and looked at rarely.
